KARACHI: Justice Junaid Ghaffar of High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Friday ordered issuance of notice to the Collector Customs, Port Muhammad Bin Qasim for Dec 19.
The bench was hearing a suit filed by Messers Prime Packagaes seeking release of their consignment of PVC plastic which was detained by PMBQ custom offiocials for want of laboratory certificate.
Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate appearing for the plaintiff submitted that custom authorities are detaining all consignments on pretext of lan certificate that consignment imported is not hazardous in any way.
She maintained that this make the importer obtain a certificate which normally takes seven days. She complained that due to illegal detention of consignments huge losses are accruing to the importer.
The single judge later adjourned further proceedings till Dec 19.
