KARACHI: Hearing a petition filed by Abid and Sons, a customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan, customs was restrained from getting the security deposited encashed. The petitioner imported shampoo from India.

According to details, the consignment was seized provisionally but later case was not fianlised. The customs sent the matter to Valuation collectorate for determining Valuation Ruling afresh. In the meanwhile, the department issued notice to the petitioner/importer for encashment of security deposit. The bench after hearing the sides stayed the encashment of security. The bench also sought comments from the department by Nov 28.
