KARACHI: Justice Aftab Ahmed Gorar of High Court of Sindh (SHC) admitted an accused in betle nuts smuggling case to protective bail for seven days.

According details, Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate filed a protective bail plea on behalf of applicant/accused Muzammil. She contended that applicant/accused is neither an importer or a clearing agent.

She further contended that name of the applicant/accused was not in the FIR but was included in charge sheet later and now warrants of arrest have been issued against him.

The applicant was booked after recovery of betle nuts from a container containing shoes.

The SHC bench after hearing initial arguments admitted the applicant to bail against a solvent surety of rupees 50,000 while asking the applicant to surrender before the trial court within seven days.
