NAB approves inquiry against Shaukat Ali

KARACHI: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has approved an inquiry into corruption allegations against Director General Customs Intelligence & Investigation Shaukat Ali and his front-man ex-customs employ Mushtaq Sarghana.

Sources said Chairman NAB has assigned NAB Rawalpindi to conduct inquiry into the reports of large-scale corruption and smuggling under the patronage of Shaukat Ali. NAB Rawalpindi has summoned Syed Aamir Shabbir (the complainant) to record his statement before the bureau on September 25, 2018.

Sources said during his meeting with NAB IO, Aamir Shabbir (an ex-Customs Intelligence employ) will present list of the witnesses including BS-20 officers including Dr. Saud Imran, Mohammad Akhtar, Jamil Nasir, Zulfiqar Yunus, Nasrullah Wazir, Dr. Adnan Akram; Inspector Hamid Habib.

Sources said NAB would also look into the abnormal visits of Shaukat Ali to Dubai and his assets and properties in Dubai.

It was known that Aamir Shabbir has been advised to be extremely careful as attempts could be made on his life as it happened to other officials in the past.
