SHC grant bail to accused in Indian Gutka case

KARACHI: Justice Fahim Ahmed Siddiqui of High Court of Sindh on Wednesday admitted an accused in gutka smuggling case to bail against a surety of rupees 50,000.

According to details, Anti Smuggling Organisation (ASO) of Pakistan Customs,Preventive intercepted two Suzuki pickups on 12-6-2018 on Mauripur road. The search of the vehicles lead to the recovery of 726,750 pouches of Gutka of Indian origin.

The drivers of both the vehicle stated to have fled away seeing the raiding party. The Customs after investigations booked applicant/accused Essa Gul. The accused/ applicant in the meanwhile moved the instant application for protective bail (bail before arrest).

The bench after hearing the arguments by the counsel for applicant/accused granted protective bail against solvent surety of rupees 50,000.
