KARACHI: MCC Hyderabad has seized 58,000 liters of smuggled Irani diesel worth Rs4.17 million and a Hino truck worth Rs6.0 million as Customs is keeping strict vigil over movement of smuggled goods including diesel.
Information was received through Collector Hyderabad Khalid Hussain Jamali and Additional Collector Aamir Nawaz Hamid that attempt will be made to smuggle Iranian high speed diesel oil from Baluchistan to interior Sindh.
Deputy Collector Preventive Sukkur Kaleemullah Wagan constituted a team headed by Inspector Ayaz hussain Gilal to foil the attempt.
During the course, Anti-smuggling staff spotted the suspected vehicle and recovered foreign origin diesel. After fulfilling all legal formalities the vehicle and commodity was seized.
