KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh ordered issuance of notices to respondent custom officials for Aug 08 in a petition seeking implementation of an interim order directing release of a truck used in smuggling of diesel.
According to details Collector Adjudication (I) while hearing an appeal ordered that truck owned by petitioner Abdul Aziz be released against payment of bank guarantee and 20 per cent redemption fine.
The custom authorities failed to implement the said order after which the instant petition was filed. The bench after hearing counsel for petitioner while ordering issuance of notices to the respondents also directed the appellate authorities of the Pakistan Customs to consider the application of the petitioner seeking interim release of the truck, sole source of income of petitioner.
