Karachi: MCC Quetta has widened the domain of its crackdown launched against fuel stations selling smuggled and low-standard fuel.

Collector Quetta Ashraf Ali has formed teams under the supervision of Additional Collector Zubair Shah and Deputy Collector Maqbool Baloch to root out the menace. Customs Quetta raided several fuel stations in Dasht area of Mastung and recovered large quantity of foreign origin diesel and sealed several such fuel stations.

Superintendents Maqsood Durrani and Niamat Kakar, Inspectors Naseer Shaheen, Shahzad Akhtar, Jameel Kakar, Masroor Mangel, Ghulam Hussain Khoso, Shabbir Khan, Essa Khan and Asghar Kakar are taking active part in this operation.

Customs authorities have also planned to raid storage units, where the smuggled fuel from Iran is kept and then distributed further. FC and local police is extending all cooperation to Customs authorities.

The crackdown was launched in the directives of Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) and the ambit of this operation is also being extended to non-custom paid vehicles also.
