KARACHI: A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Thursday ordered provisional release of an oil tanker after custom re-assess tax, duties etc and petitioner deposits the same with the Nazir of the court.

The bench was hearing a petition filed by Khan Tariq, owner of a Toyota hilux against Pakistan Customs, Preventive which detained the vehicle on ground that its registration is fake and that two vehicles with same number are on-road.

Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate appearing for the petitioner submitted that the said vehicle was also detained by the DIT which after verification released the same in 2005. She denied the allegation that registration of her clients vehicle is fake, dual.

The bench after hearing Khalid Rajpar advocate, counsel for respondent custom officials ordered provisional release against deposition of security besides taxes, duties with the Nazir of SHC.
