KARACHI: MCC Quetta seized smuggled goods worth Rs. 8.5 million alognwith vehicles  involved in the transportation of these goods valuing Rs4.0 million.

On the directives of Collector Quetta Ashraf Ali, the collectorate is keeping strict vigilance on the movement of smuggled goods.

Miscellaneous goods i.e. tiles, motor oil, plastic dana, foreign Iranian origin smuggled diesel milk power, glassware, Betel nuts, blankets, almond with out shell, different seizes of tyres and other items were seized by Custom authorities at several Custom Stations i.e Surab, Lakpass, Baleli and Mobile Squads.

In one case a Passenger Bus from Panjgur to Karachi was also detained carrying smuggled goods while Toyota Surf was taken into custody carrying foreign origin diesel. The total involved amount in the said seizures cases are Rs8.05 million without vehicles. While with vehicles it reached Rs 12 million.

FBR encourages and supports the efforts of Anti Smuggling wings of Customs in fighting organized crime through effective initiatives such are improvement of staff capacity, check posts and mobile squads.
