KARACHI: MCC Quetta has been quite active against the movement of smuggled goods into the country and carried out a number of operations seizing smuggled goods worth Rs1.35 billion during the first nine months of the current fiscal year (July 2017 – March 2018).

Collector Quetta Ashraf Ali has advised his entire team to keep strict vigil on the movement of smuggled goods. During the period under review, MCC Quetta seized 620 vehicles, over a million liters of petroleum products, 273 bottles of liquor and miscellaneous goods worth Rs658.353 million. In addition, a sizeable quantity of narcotics and foreign currency was also recovered. MCC Quetta had seized smuggled worth Rs1.095 billion in the same period last year.

In March 2018 alone, MCC Quetta seized smuggled goods including vehicles, diesel and miscellaneous goods worth Rs151.91 million as compared with the goods seized worth Rs121.89 million in March 2017.
