KARACHI: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence & Investigation Peshawar has geared up its anti-smuggling and anti-evasion drive led by Director Irfan Javed.

During the last week of February, the staff of field intelligence unit D.I KLhan seized foreign origin apples for violation of provisions of Customs Act. The apples and trucks valued Rs11.15 million. Moreover, a Corolla car was intercepted coming from Peshawar and 580 Qmobiles worth were Rs1.6 million were recovered from the car valuing Rs1.2 million.

Furthermore, Customs Intelligence Peshawar seized large quantity of smuggled miscellaneous goods and detected mis-declaration of value on imported goods by M/s A.R Enterprises and M/s Central Asia Linkers, the recoverable amount is calculated to be 10.21 million. Customs Intelligence Peshawar also recovered 03kg of opium and 25kg charas worth Rs3.9  during its campaign.

Overall,  detection of evasion of duty/taxes to the tune of Rs10.21 million and anti-smuggling activity involving goods valuing Rs22.85 million is made. All these cases have been made without the assistance of any other agency.
