KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Mrs Ashraf Jahan on Thursday allowed a petition filed by United Tiles.
The petitioner challenged the imposition of Regulatory Duty (RD) on tiles which was included in a list of 459 items slapped with RD under SRO 497 of 2009.
The bench after hearing the counsel for appellant represented by a counsel from Franklin Law Associate and respondent Pakistan Customs as an interim arrangement ordered release of the consignment on payment of 50 per cent with the Nazir of the court and 50 per cent with the customs department.
