KARACHI: A customs appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Mrs Ashraf Jahan on Wednesday ordered issuance of notices to the respondents including Pakistan Customs in a case of vehicle detained by Directorate of Intelligence and Investigations and others for Jan 26.

Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate appearing for the petitioner Khan Tariq, an ex FIA officials whose vehicle a Toyota Surf was detained from near Saddar Police station. She argued that the petitioner is seventh owner of the 1996 model car. She also maintained that the said vehicle was released by Custom Officials earlier. Referring to cases of identical nature she maintained that driver did not had the custom documents and vehicle may ordered to be released.

The bench after hearing the counsel for petitioner, an ex FIA inspector ordered issuance of notices to the respondents for Jan 26.

The same bench also stayed auction in respect of dry fruits confiscated from a store outside city area. Arfat, owner of the huge consignment moved the court against auction notice. The auction was to be held today.
