KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) on Tuesday allowing benefit of section 81 to petitioners/ importers ordered release of consignments as an interim relief.

The bench earlier heard lawyer from Franklin Law Associates who appeared for the petitioners Khas Trading and Global Trade Links and relied upon a judgment in case law known as Danish Jahangiri case. The bench after hearing the counsel for respondent Pakistan Customs ordered release of the consignment while legality of circular issued by the Collector Customs denying the benefit of section 81 of Customs Act 1969 to importers.
