KARACHI: Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) of MCC Peshawar has seized foreign origin weapons worth Rs2.3 million and arrested two persons who attempted to smuggle the contrabands into the country.
Information was received through Collector Peshawar Gul Rehman that foreign origin weapon would be smuggled via Swat in a Suzuki pick-up. Deputy Collector ASO constituted a team of ASO Mardan unit.
The officials spotted the suspected vehicle coming from Naushehra and was intercepted. The detailed examination resulted in recovery of weapons including 34 Turkish made shotguns, one Czech Republic made pistol and 30 made in China pistols worth Rs2.34 million.
An FIR has been lodged and investigations are underway.
