KARACHI: Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized 638 smuggled mobile phones worth Rs10 million, which were being transported to Lahore from Peshawar via two passenger busses. One accused has also been arrested.

According to details, Customs authorities acting on the information intercepted two passenger buses of M/s Bilal Travels and recovered 638 mobile phones of a known brand, which were to be supplied to mobile dealers at Mall Road, Lahore.

The Customs team comprising of Superintendent NAsir Minhas, Deputy Superintendent Agha Qadeera and Inspectors Tariq Beg, Aijaz Butt and Gulzar Bhatti conducted the operation and arrested one Taj Wali. Investigations are underway to identify the party ordered supply of these smuggled mobile phones to Lahore.
