KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Nazar Akbar on Friday reserved the judgment in dozens of cases pertaining to concession in respect of import of cotton lint, generators and pharmaceutical grade material.
The petitioners/plaintiff maintained that they imported consignments of basic material and sought concessionary rate of taxes etc but the Collector Custom over riding the decision by Board of Revenue rejected a clarification and ordered that concession is not available to the petitioner. The counsel for one of the petitioners submitted that he was enjoying the facility till 1995 which was suddenly withdrawn.
Today Masooda Siraj, Sardar Zafar Hussain advocate represented customs department while Advocate Khalid Javed Khan appeared for the Ginning and Spining Mills. The bench after hearing the counsel from both sides reserved the judgment.
