KARACHI: An appellate bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Arshad Hussain Khan on Friday stayed auction of a vehicle confiscated by Directorate of Intelligence and Investigations (DIT).
The bench was hearing a constitution petition filed by one Manzoor Qadir Laghari against confiscation of Toyota Surf bearing registration number BF 8447. The petitioner maintained that the vehicle, model 1998 was not a smuggled one but was duly imported.
The counsel for petitioner submitted a list of vehicles to be auctioned by the custom authorities. The bench after perusing the papers restrained the DIT from auctioning the vehicle till further orders. The bench also fixed May 4 for further hearing.
