KARACHI: Director General Customs Valuation Surayya Ahmed Butt is continuing the ‘Tanveer Plan’ to streamline values of importable values to check under-invoicing, which is not only causing revenue loss to the exchequer, but it also has deprived the local manufacturing of level playing field.
Directorate General of Customs Valuation had initiated an exercise to develop database values for different items wherein it has been observed that declarations are wide range and do not correctly reflect values of the items as traded in the international market.
The reference values of Ortho Xylene (99%) under PCT 2902.4100 of India are $0.82/kg. The reference values of Phthallic Anhydride under PCT 2917.3500 of Korea are $0.84/kg, of Russia are $0.81/kg. The reference values of Adipic Acid under PCT 2917.1200 of China are $1.06/kg. The reference values of Industrial Nitrocellulose Binder Cellulose under PCT 3912.2020 of all origins are $2.8/kg.
The reference values of Polycarbonate Resin under PCT 3907.4000 of China are $2.35/kg, of Taiwan are $3.06/kg, of Saudi Arabia are $2.1/kg of Korea are $3.15/kg.
