KARACHI: On the directives of Collector Saeed Akram, MCC Gwadar has launched a massive operation against the smugglers of High Speed Diesel and contraband items in collaboration with a sensitive intelligence agency and a law enforcement agency.
In one such operation, MCC Gwadar seized 1,65,000 liters of Iranian origin smuggled High Speed Diesel loaded on five tankers near Nalaint on Turbat-Pasni road. The market value of the seized goods is Rs31.8 million.
In another case, Customs staff of Ormara station has seized 200 bottles of contraband foreign origin liquor dumped near Hudh Goth in Ormara. The market value of the seized liquor is Rs0.7 million.
AIRs have been registered in both cases, efforts are underway to arrest the culprits involved in the smuggling of HSD and contraband liquor.
