KARACHI: MCC Peshawar has foiled an attempt to smuggle 12kg heroin and arrested two Afghan nationals at Torkham.

According to details, on specific information received from Qurban Ali Khan Collector Peshawar, Customs staff including Deputy Collector Fazli Shakoor, Superintendent Mohammad Naeem, Inspector Mehmood-ul-Hasan and two sepoys at Torkham recovered 12kg heroin worth millions from a Bedford truck and arrested two persons Wasseullah s/o Gul Marjan and Bawar s/o Gul Zaman, both Afghan nationals.

The contraband was packed in 12 packets, which were tactfully concealed in the secret cavities of the truck.

The recovered narcotics and truck were seized and FIR is lodged against the accused for criminal proceedings.
