KARACHI: Director General Customs Valuation Syed Tanveer Ahmed has rejected the revision petition filed by M/s Premier Traders and others and upheld the values of photocopier machines determined vide Valuation Ruling No.913/2016.

According to details, M/s Premier Traders and others had approached Director General seeking revision in the customs values of photocopier machines.

Importers submitted that the valuation ruling as referred above have been determined without consideration of present market situation and without giving any opportunity of meeting of stake holders and as such the same have been determined on the back of the Importers and the same are liable to be reviewed forthwith.

The Directorate of Customs Valuation submitted that the importers had not furnished any corroboratory documents in support of their contention that international prices had declined.

After detailed deliberation, Director General Syed Tanveer Ahmed inferred that the customs values were correctly determined by the Directorate after examining the import data, online prices from international websites and by analyzing all information on record.

Directorate General rejected the revision petition and upheld the Valuation Rulings No.913/2016.
