KARACHI: Director General Customs Valuation Syed Tanveer Ahmed has rejected the revision petition filed by M/s Madni Traders and others and upheld the values of different kind of brushes determined vide Valuation Ruling No. 933/2016, 932/2016 and 934/2016.

According to details, M/s Madni Traders and others had approached Director General seeking revision in the customs values of hair brush, cleaning/washing/sweeping/dusting and similar kind of brushes.

Importers submitted that the valuation rulings as referred above have been determined without consideration of present market situation and without giving any opportunity of meeting of stake holders and as such the same have been determined on the back of the Importers and the same are liable to be reviewed forthwith.

The Directorate of Customs Valuation submitted that the importers had not furnished any corroboratory documents in support of their contention that international prices had declined.

After detailed deliberation, Director General Syed Tanveer Ahmed inferred that the customs values were correctly determined by the Directorate after examining the import data, online prices from international websites and by analyzing all information on record.

Directorate General rejected the revision petition and upheld the Valuation Rulings No.933/2016, 932/2016 and 934/2016.
