KARACHI: MCC Islamabad has foiled another attempt to smuggle gold at Islamabad International Airport.

A passenger named Liaquat Ali arriving from Mascat via PIA Flight pk 292, was carrying gold concealed in the inner pocket of his jacket. Total quantity of gold is 727 Grams (63 Tollas) and its approximate value is Rupees 3.2 Million.

FIR has been lodged and investigation is underway.

FBR is pursuing a campaign against currency and gold smuggling. Collectorates across the country have deployed additional staff at airports while state of the art scanners are also being used for the purpose.

MCC Islamabad has already made several cases wherein passengers coming from abroad attempted to smuggle currency and gold into the country while MCC Lahore is also keeping strict vigilance on air passengers coming from abroad to check smuggling.
