KARACHI: MCC Islamabad has seized huge quantity of smuggled fabric and assorted cell phones on Thursday. Four persons have also been arrested.
On specific information received from Collector Customs Dr. Arslan Subuctageen, the MCC Islamabad staff stopped a dumper loader truck. Upon examination the vehicle was found stuffed with non-duty paid foreign origin fabric weighing 7.0 tons. The value of the fabric is estimated to be Rs7.7 million while the vehicle is worth Rs3.0 million. Three persons have been arrested in this regard.
Earlier in the day, staff of MCC Islamabad at Islamabad Airport, an attempt was foiled to smuggle 236 mobile phones. A person is arrested who was brining these phones from Dubai.
