KARACHI: Customs Intelligence Multan has seized a truck loaded with smuggled cigarette and Indian origin Gutka (chewing tobacco) in Dera Ghazi khan.

The truck was coming from Quetta and was going to Lahore. Deputy Director Naveed-ur-Rehman led the raiding part, which recovered contrabands worth Rs15 million.

It may be mentioned here that Pakistan Customs is pursuing a rigorous campaign against smuggling throughout the country.

All the formations in coordination with other agencies have chokes most of the transportation routes of smuggled and non-duty goods.

Smuggling has a multi-pronged impact on the economy and it is established fact that money made from smuggling funds terrorists and anti-social elements.
