KARACHI: Collector MCC Islamabad Dr. Arslan Subuctageen chaired a meeting on Friday regarding recovery of arrears outstanding against Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
PIA has been given notice for immediate deposit of Rs1.173 billion on three wet leased Aircrafts imported by PIA at Islamabad International Airport in 2013, against which PIA has only paid Rs310 million till now, in violation of the Decision of ECC made in 2013, according to which PIA was required to deposit the amount of Rs1.4 billion in monthly installments, but it has not deposited any thing since the past eight months.
The Collectorate has taken a serious notice of this Violation and PIA has also been informed that in case of non-compliance their NTN will be blocked country wide and their movable and non movable properties would be attached.
The Islamabad Customs Collectorate is fully geared up to achieve its revenue target by June 30, 2016.
