KARACHI: The Directorate General of Customs Valuations has issued an assessment alert pertaining to under invoicing in assessed value of broom sticks.
The Directorate General of Customs Valuations has initiated an exercise to develop database values for different items which are prone to under invoicing.
During the scrutiny of previous one year data, it has been observed that broom sticks (Ekel and flower) under PCT headings 1404.9041 and 1404.9049 are being imported at $0.15/kg to $0.25/KG in different collectorates.
However, the assessable customs values of broom sticks (ekel and flower) range between 0.35/KG to $0.95/KG.
The collectorates are advised to make final assessment after considering the customs values as well as other factors which have bearing on the customs values.
