KARACHI: The MCC Quetta has seized smuggled earth moving machinery worth Rs22 million and lodged a case against unidentified culprits.
According to details, information was received by Collector Quetta Saeed Jadoon through Deputy Collector Preventive that heavy machinery would be smuggled from Afghanistan to down country.
Subsequently, a truck was signaled to stop but the driver of suspected vehicle sped up. After pursuance the truck was nabbed near Sheela Bagh check post, however the driver managed to flee.
The truck was found to be loaded with two Germany made road rollers. The operation was supervised by Deputy Collector ASO Amanullah Tareen.
Since, no one appeared to claim the ownership of the goods, the road rollers and truck were seized. Case is registered and investigations are underway.
