Karachi: NAB Karachi has arrested three accused namely Mumtaz ul Haq, Ex-Additional Director, Karachi Development Authority (KDA), Akhlaq Ahmed, Ex-Director Planning, Master Plan and Munir Ahmed Khan, Ex-Assistant Director, Master Plan from M.R Kayani  Road today 26-4-2016. Accused arrested in Reference No.49/2015 after dismissal of their bail application. An inquiry was initiated regarding land grabbing/china cutting in Karachi. Subsequently, Chairman NAB constituted a joint investigation team. During the investigation it has been established that the 13 plots bearing Nos. B-149/1 to B-149/13, Block1, Gulistan e Jouhar, Scheme-36, each measuring 293.33 sq. yards were created and constructed upon land reserved for water conduit of KW&SB and High Tension Line of K-Electric by the officials of KDA in connivance with the officials of Master Plan Department (MPD), KW&SB and SBCA. A loss of Rs.500,000,000/- was caused to the National Exchequer.

All three accused are in NAB’s custody and others are declared absconders. It is pertinent to mention that in all 22 accused are involved in this case.

NAB Karachi continues to carry out its responsibility diligently in arresting the corrupt involved in causing losses to the national exchequer and the public.
