KARACHI: The MCC Islamabad is making significant progress against smuggling and the movement of smuggled goods has been reduced to a large extent.

In consonance with the special directives of FBR, Islamabad Customs seized 4850 smuggled mobile phones, 15750 cartons of cigarettes, 240 kgs Indian gutca, 2467 kgs of aluminum printing sheets & 1342 kgs of bopp film along with truck no NHS 3195.

Customs has also arrested one person while apprised value of seized goods is Rs30 millions and local market value is Rs80 million. The truck was apprehended near Tarnol interchange heading to Lahore.

Investigation is in progress, some influencing persons are going to be arrested soon.
