KARACHI: MCC Quetta has raided three godowns in Kuchlak and recovered smuggled goods worth over Rs80 million.

The goods recovered include black tea, tyres of different sizes, agricultural medicines, generators, curtain cloth, blankets etc.

The authorities also found over a dozen trucks at these warehouses, which have been brought in the custody of Customs House Quetta. Collector Quetta Saeed Jadoon, Deputy Collector Amanullah Tareen were present on the occasion.

A contingent of police and Anti-terrorist Force (ATF) provided all assistance to the Customs staff. This is the third such operation in the current week.

Earlier, MCC Quetta seized around 950 KG of Charas at Customs check post Bolaili and the other operation 2650 KG of Charas was seized at check post Bolaili. Both of these operations were led by Deputy Collector Amanullah Tareen. The teams include Superintendent Fazle Rabbi, Inspectors Mausam Khan and Essa Khan and others including Mumtaz khan and Shamsullah Kakar.

It may be mentioned here that this is the season of narcotics smuggling as the poppy crops are being harvested in Afghanistan.

Sources said that after a RAW agent was nabbed, Customs authorities have organized the institution to a higher extent to eliminate smuggling and choke funding lines of miscreants.
