KARACHI: Pakistan Customs made an instant seizure of narcotics at International Departure, JIAP, Karachi. This seizure is a part of a prior seizure wherein a drug carrier was arrested and investigations led to the entire chain, customnews.pk learnt.

Additional Collector of Customs Preventive Syed Asad Raza Rizvi along with Deputy Collectors Ali Raza Turabi and Amjad Aman Laghari during a press conference informed the customs staff posted at International Departure Hall, Jinnah International Airport, Karachi seized over one KG heroin and other contraband.

Staff intercepted two passengers, identified as Gul Sher S/o Dhani Buksh, Pakistani National and his wife namely Reshma Pakistani National.

The scrutiny of their travel documents revealed that both the passengers were traveling to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) for performing umrah from Karachi.

The passengers named above were wearing Ahrams who were asked to declare whether they were carrying any contrabands viz; narcotics or foreign currency etc. in their baggage or on their person, to which, they denied.

Owing to information and strong suspicion, their baggage comprising of a trolley suit case was examined which led to the recovery of 16 small polythene packets of heroin powder total weighing 1270 grams.

Moreover, the minute examination of the hollow of handle rod and frame of the suit case resulted into recovery of Amphetamine 890 grams (net).

The Yellow heroin powder and Amphetamine so recovered were instantly tested with a “Testing Kit” which gave positive inferences. The heroin powder and amphetamine were seized along with containers thereof and traveling documents of the passengers after completion of all legal formalities Accused passengers Gulsher S/o Dhani Buksh and Reshma w/o Gulsher were arrested and served with notice of arrest.

FIR is lodged and further investigation is in progress.
