KARACHI: Any kind of lubricants can be imported after obtaining license from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and violation of this makes the consignment liable to be confiscated, said comments filed by Pakistan Customs, Appraisement, East before High Court of Sindh.

Kashif Nazeer advocate, appearing for the Pakistan Customs filed the comments today after which further hearing was put off to an unspecified date.

The petition was filed by Abdullah and Company challenging the detention of the consignment of lubricant. The Custom raises the law point that petitioner cannot be benefitted from the license obtained after filing of  “Goods Declaration”. If confiscated, the consignment would be auctioned as per law which is the ultimate solution, maintains the petitioner/importer expressing readiness to pay the custom duty, taxes and even fine for release of the consignment.
