KARACHI: A fire broke out at a tanker during the oil filling at oil terminal Kemari, but any major mishap was averted and fire was controlled in a very short time.
This incident brings many things to light that unless appropriate arrangements and training are undertaken, there remains a big threat of a serious nature of incident.
The oil terminal Kemari is adjacent to Sheerein Jinnah colony and officials fear that having such a neighborhood adjacent to a sensitive place housing millions of liters of oil is a threat.
Although law enforcement agencies and Rangers have presence at the terminal but still the facility is lacking proper scanning and monitoring of individuals’ movement.
