KARACHI: ASO Customs Intelligence Karachi has seized Indian Gutka and non-duty paid foreign origin cigarettes worth Rs10 million approximately.
Director Asif Marghoob Siddiqui had this information and a team was formed headed by Additional Director Nadeem Ahsan, Assistant Director Kaleemullah, Superintendents Najeeb Abbasi and Mahmood Abbas.
The team on the information reached a spot at Azizabad near Agha Khan Jamaat Khana. A vehicle had dropped the goods outside the residential flats. When the officials asked about the goods, no one claimed the ownership. The goods were seized.
Sources said that it was suspected that the flats were being used as warehouses to store smuggled goods. Investigations in this regard are underway.
