KARACHI: MCC Preventive raided seized two warehouses in Karachi, where the containers of NATO/ISAF/US Army cargo were being scrapped. Moreover, large quantity of military  equipment and parts of military machines.

Both the warehouses one in Bhains Colony and one in Mauripur owned by M/s Bilal Associated have been sealed. Source said scores of containers, which were being used for transportation of NATO/ISAF/US Army reverse cargo were present at these warehouses and the same were being scrapped.

The investigations into the pilferage of US Army/Nato/ISAF cargo in Pakistan have unveiled astonishing as well as alarming aspects, which make it even a sensitive case.

This development raises a big question mark on the claims of Afghan authorities and representatives of USA that none of their containers ever went missing. It is interesting to note that Government of Pakistan and Pakistan Customs has never received even a single complaint that any of US Army/ NATO/ISAF container went missing or was pilfered.

It may be recalled the Supreme Court of Pakistan took a suo moto action and a report was prepare by Dr. Shoib Suddle and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) that a large number of NATO/ISAF US Army containers went missing and pilfered.

Earlier, the Directorate of Afghan Transit Trade (ATT) raided the office of M/s Bilal Associates in Clifton, Karachi and all the records, email history and computers were taken into possession. Analysis of the email history confirmed their direct involvement in the pilferage of US Army/NATO/ISAF cargo.

It may be recalled that manager of M/s Bilal Associates named Suhail is already under arrest. It was on his information that the raid was conducted, which is a big achievement pertaining to the ongoing investigations into the pilferage of US Army/NATO/ISAF cargo.

An official said that despite themselves being a bonded carrier, they used the name and license of M/s Port Connection for the transportation of US Army/NATO/ISAF cargo.

It may be mentioned here that the Directorate General of Transit Trade had lodged FIR pertaining to 21 containers of US Army/NATO/ISAF reverse cargo, which were emptied in the country, drivers of 11 vehicles on which these containers were loaded had also been arrested.

Intelligence sources said this is a very organized ring comprising of elements reported to be M/s Security Packers, M/s Bilal Associates and some leading bonded carriers.

The Directorate General of Transit Trade also served Contravention Reports registering the focal person nominated by US Office of the Defense, Representative Pakistan and others as accused in the case of pilferage and illegal removal of goods from containers of US Army reverse cargo.

Accordingly, it was established the bonded carrier and the authorized agents have not fulfilled their responsibilities to transit the cargo safe and sound condition. The authorities established that bonded carrier M/s Port Connection and authorized agents M/s Peerzada Services International, M/s Ghani’s International, M/s Multitrans Logistics and M/s Bilal Associates in active connivance with each other misdeclared and pilfered transit goods.
