KARACHI: Director Customs Valuation Manzoor Hussain Memon has revised the Customs values of baby diapers, sanitary towels, napkins and tampons vide Valuation Ruling No. 775/2015.
Customs values of baby diapers were earlier determined through Valuation Ruling No.660/2014. It was brought to the notice of Directorate General that value of sanitary napkin was being declared by the importers on lower side causing loss of revenue.
An exercise was initiated to determine the Customs value of baby diaper and sanitary napkin with a view to reflect the current prices prevailing in the international market.
Accordingly, high value brands of baby diapers including EQ, Canbebe, Huggies excluding Pampers of Taiwan and other origins under PCT Chapter 96.19 would be assessed to duty and taxes at $3.0/KG.
Low value brands of baby diapers of China would be assessed to duty and taxes at $2.25/KG; of Indonesia, Malaysia, UAE and other origin at $2.75/KG; of Turkey origin at $2.5/KG; baby diapers of Vietnam would be assessed to duty and taxes at $2.15 per KG.
Low value brands of sanitary towels, napkins (pads) and tampons of China under PCT 96.19 would be assessed to duty and taxes at $2.0/KG.
