KARACHI: The overall revenue collection by Pakistan Customs in the fiscal year so far i.e. four months (July-October 2015) has surged by 14.39 percent to Rs309.061 billion as against Rs270.163 billion in the same period last year July-October 2014.
The Customs duty collection by Pakistan Customs surged by 26 percent to Rs85.857 billion in July-October 2015 as compared with the collection of Rs67.154 billion in same period last year.
However, Customs duty collection by Pakistan Customs MCC south region declined by 10 percent to Rs73.229 billion in July-October 2015 as compared with the collection of Rs82.058 billion last year.
Overall sales tax collection at import stage stood Rs169.163 billion during the period under review, up 13 percent as against Rs149.61 billion in the same month last year.
Appraisement South’s collection of sales tax at import stage stood at Rs140.669 billion, down 20 percent as against Rs176.031 collected last year in the similar period.
Income tax collected by Pakistan Customs during July-October 2015 stood at Rs50.36 billion as compared with Rs42.209 billion last year. Appraisement South collected Income tax of Rs43.412 billion in the period as against Rs48.593 billion collected in the same period last year.
Highest revenue collection in terms of Customs duty came from MCC Appraisement West, which collected Rs21.869 billion followed by MCC Appraisement West collecting Rs21.455 billion and MCC Port Qasim collecting Rs20.386 billion in July-October 2015.
For the months of July-October 2015, MCC Rawalpindi CD collection stood at Rs887.39 million compared with Rs1.421 billion collected in same period last year; MCC Lahore CD collection stood at Rs7.038 billion (Rs8.014 billion in July-October 2014); MCC Islamabad CD collection Rs424.81 million (Rs545.21 million July-October 2014); MCC Peshawar CD collection Rs2.246 billion (Rs1.773 billion July-October 2014); MCC Multan CD collection Rs1.814 million (Rs2.467 billion July-October 2014); MCC Hyderabad CD collection Rs452.06 million (Rs408.42 million July-October 2014); MCC Quetta CD collection Rs659.52 million (Rs246.53 million July-October 2014); MCC Karachi preventive CD collection Rs8.062 billion (Rs4.1 billion July-October 2014); MCC Karachi EPZ-Imports CD collection stood at Rs88.53 million (Rs38.60 million July-October 2014); MCC Sialkot CD collection Rs41.63 million (Rs34.57 million July-October 2014) and MCC Faisalabad customs duty collection in July-October 2015 stood at Rs136.13 million compared with Rs646.63 million collected in July-October 2014.
