KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the scope of Duty and Tax Remission for Exports (DTRE) facility for the manufacturers cum exporters of vegetable ghee.

The FBR has amended the capping for the export of vegetable ghee from 1000 metric tons per year to 1000 metric tons per month.

After this amendment in Customs Rules, 2001 notified on July 08, 2015, manufacturers cum exporters of vegetable ghee shall be allowed to avail DTRE facility to acquire raw materials for the manufacture and export of vegetable ghee not exceeding 1000 metric tons.

Now, the facilities having a capacity of producing exporters less than 1000 metric tons per month shall be entitled to duty and tax remission.

The DTRE facility is available to the persons registered under the Sales Tax Act, 1990, as exporters; persons who make value addition in the manufacture and export of goods in accordance with the prevalent value addition of the relevant industry; those who act or intend to act as contracted vendors of foreign manufacturers or foreign buyers; and commercial exporters engaged in the purchase and export of goods in same state either after packing or otherwise.
