KARACHI: The Customs Drug Enforcement Cell – Jinnah International Airport – foiled an attempt to smuggle out heroin powder from general post office and seized 450 grams of narcotics worth millions of rupees in the international market.

A Parcel was booked from Karachi to Australia, which was declared to contain sports goods. Assistant Collector Wasif Malik developed suspicion and advised Superintendent Preventive (SPS) Zarrar Bin Azmat, Inspector Preventive (IPS) Javaid Iqbal and Preventive Officer Mohammad Akbar to examine the parcel thoroughly.

Upon examination, 450 grams of light brown heroin powder which was artistically concealed in the inner layers of cardboards used for packing 120 pairs of wrist bands.

A case under CNS Act has been registered and efforts are afoot to apprehend the accused person.
