KARACHI: The MCC Exports has recovered excess amount of export rebate paid to one exporter along with the penalty after three years.

According to details, an amount of Rs5,60,363 and penalty Rs 50,000 (totaling Rs610,363 was out standing against Ahsan Raza son of Ghulam Abass on account of excess amount of Duty draw back claim of Rs.560,363 paid to the claimant instead of claimed Duty Draw Back Rebate amount of Rs.128,498 by the MCC Paccs, Karachi.

The case was adjudicated in the year 2011 and an amount of Rs.560,363 along with penalty Rs.50,000 was adjudged accordingly.

The exporter i.e. Ahsan Raza of M/s Fashion Dot com was advised to refund excess amount of export rebate received -along with the penalty to avoid initiation of criminal proceedings.

As the bank accounts of the above named defaulter was attached in terms of Section 202 of the Customs Act, 1969 read with Customs Recovery Rules, 2001 and now the defaulter has approached and requested that he has arranged total principal amount of Rs.610,363 in cash due to the reason that the concerned banks refused to issue pay orders in the light of attachment of his bank accounts.

MCC Exports has asked the concerned bank to deposit the cash of Rs.610,3 63 in the account of Collector of Customs (Exports), Custom House, Karachi under proper acknowledgement.
