KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has invited suggestions from general public to bring changes in taxation system after amid falling in ease of paying taxes gauged by World Bank.
The tax reform commission constituted by the government to:
— Review and rationalization of Direct and Indirect Taxes
— Customs Tariff Rationalization
— Review of Autonomy and Administrative structure of FBR
— Creation of border force to deal with illegal movement of persons and goods across international borders; and
— Any other related issues.
The notification issued by FBR said that the Tax Reforms Commission would appreciate the suggestions and recommendations from general public.
Please submit your suggestions and ideas to be considered by the Tax Reforms Commission. The last date for submission of suggestions is: November 30, 2014.
On the other hand, the new team of FBR under the leadership of Tariq Bajwa had spent over one year and instead improving the system and facilitating the taxpayers the ease in paying taxes in Pakistan further slipped to 172 from previous slot of 168.
