KARACHI: Qamar Alam has been elected unopposed as president of Karachi Customs Agents Association (KCAA) for the term 2014/2015. While the remaining office bearers of the association have also been elected unopposed for the term.
According to details Qamar Alam has been elected president of the association while other elected members are included: Naseem Askar, senior vice president; Mirza Athar Baig, vice president; Kaisaf Khan Marwat, assistant vice president; Khurram Ijaz, general secretary; Muhammad Aamir, joint secretary; Gohar Mehboob, information secretary; and Tariq Jawed, finance secretary.
Sheikh Muhammad Tariq, the other candidate for slot of president withdrew the name last day.
The election for the KCAA is scheduled for September 25 and members of the associations would elect 12 members managing committee out of 18 candidates filed nomination papers.
Sources said that MC members would also be elected unopposed before issuance of final list of candidates as most of the candidates had already been withdrawn.
