KARACHI: The Directorate General Investigation & Intelligence (DG I&I) Range, Office, Sukkur has foiled a bid to smuggle antiques abroad.
According to details, a credible information was received by the Directorate General of Intelligence & Investigation-FBR (DG I&I) that precious antiques would be smuggled abroad from Islamabad via Karachi.
DG I&I passed on the aforesaid information to Rana Tasleem Akhtar, Deputy Director (I&I), Range Office, Sukkur to pursue and materialize the aforesaid information and to curb the smuggling of antiques.
Range Office, Sukkur intercepted a vehicle containing the antiques worth millions of dollars in the international market.
The investigation is in progress and racket will be unearthed very soon. However, it is pertinent to place on record that some of the antiques such as Budhas, Utensils etc are of Gnadhara History and seems to be hundreds of years old
The other items include idols ancient history of different kinds & size, utensils of soul ancient history and utensils of Baras of ancient Islamic history.
